Seven Priorities Results

Hello friends,
I wanted to share with you the results from our conversation last Sunday.
I'll summarize these in my sermon on Sunday, but I felt like our thoughts centered on three subjects, with some great ideas that didn't fit in the larger three. If you don't see your thoughts represented here, let me know.
One thing I notice- we have some energy for the things that we hired Jennifer for, which I find very exciting!
If you have thoughts about how I've grouped these, or what might be missing, I'd love to know

Children (Christian Formation)
Put more of a focus on Christian Formation
Youth can lead anytime they help.
Work with children. Bloom where we are planted. Maybe have some joint children's activity with Bethesda
Christian Formation for young children
Pay more attention to our youth: more formal bible/theology education would be so beneficial to help them understand what it means to be "called to learn and grow and breath and live into the image of Jesus", and to make an informed decision if that's what they really want to do.

Race Relationships (Intercultural Transformation)
Race Relations: Visible activity participate to bring people from north and south. Kids program jointly with Bethesda
Intentional work on race relations.
More involvement with Bethesda
Undoing Racism and intercultural transformation
Bethesda
Race Relations
Improve Race Relations, neighborhoods, and greater community.

Neighborhood Work (Holistic Christian Witness)
Talk to Strangers on the streets every day. Get to know them. Stop passing them up.
Our church should make it a priority to get to know our neighbors. We need to get out and talk with them.
Bringing people in from neighborhood more intentionally for activities and just to share.
Visitors
Walk around the neighborhood.
Make connections with community we are in. Connect with International Institute. Broaden from black/white to culture.
Work alongside initiatives with international institute
Focus on neighborhoods and development
Be friends with the unchurched. Take a walk during Sunday Service time

Misc
Vertical and Horizontal Relationships Coming together
Refocus on 1-2 ministries/activities per year.
Are we too scattered? Do we have good focus? Is it possible to identify one or 2 to put energy into?Focus on growing in numbers
Try to live more like Christ

Intentional Community
Reconciliation requires leadership to implement
Empowered need to initiate the movement-reconciliation locally and nationally
Creation Care, simplicity prioritize

Work on being a powerful center for peace and healing in our community and the world.
