Today, March 8th is International Women's Day, and the Mennonite had an interesting article on the ways in which violence against women remains a reality while we celebrate ways in which the patriarchy has been undermined in the last century.

Hey Sam! I am glad you posted about this. I was actually out in Goma in Eastern Congo this week and was fortunate to spend International Women's Day celebrating. I stood outside for four hours (burning terribly) watching the Women's Day parade in downtown Goma. Following the parade we celebrated with all the women who work at Heal Africa by eating a Conglese meal, drinking and dancing the afternoon away. It was amazing to see such unfortunate women all celebrating their rights together.
